The sun is out, and summer is definitely trying to make a come back. Lazy days beside the pool and down the beach aren't far away! But it wasn't that long ago when the weather was cold and very wet- and important to some windy. While many of us stayed wrapped up indoors, there were a few braving the elements- in fact- actually embracing the elements! These guys (and gals) had perfect conditions for some great acrobatics- and there were a lot of people enjoying the show!

Rodeo!! ~Noosa Show~
I'm going to have forewarn you straight up that my next few blogs are a little out of order- but I HAD to post the photos from the rodeo before our day at the Noosa Show! You can all have a laugh (my mother did, so you may as well too!), but I've never been to a rodeo! And although some said it was small and dodgy, as a newbie I was gobsmacked! The power in these beautiful animals was intense, but what amazed me even more was- what on earth would possess anyone to get on the back of one of these animals?! :)
Despite the freezing cold weather, we met up with a some good friends of ours, got ourselves a seat up on an embankment and settled in. But once it started, I just had to get closer! Towards the end we were probably a little too close... and 3 bulls in a row charged the fence where we were front row (which is why there aren't many photos of bulls- we were too busy dealing with freaking out kids! Ok and us too!) . We almost got squashed by a rodeo clown who did the big dive over the fence to get out of the way of these massive horns! There were a few incidents- one guy was tossed up to the top of the fence by an angry bull, and there were a few odd kicks that connected- but nothing too major. The kids had a blast- the younger ones in particular were right into it yelling and cheering, and the older ones ran around enjoying each others good company!
I must say that I'm now hooked, and I will definitely be at the next rodeo! See you there!
All good things must come to an end...my little monkey snuggled up with Ma- ready for home!

Pictures of you...
This afternoon I started playing around with a few photos from the Noosa Show today, and came across a few of my partner with funny facial expressions. This got me thinking, and I went through the last few months of photos. In just about every album there is at least one of John looking silly- So I've thrown a couple of them together to showcase him here! My kids and I had quite a chuckle going through these- and I'm sure you will too! But there is a reason behind all these faces. John likes to call himself the 'serpent' behind Rainbow Photography. He is my biggest fan, my biggest critic, my best assistant, and my best friend. John goes the extra mile to try and help me get the shots I want- and is always pulling faces and carrying on like a monkey to get the kids interested and involved with the photos. Its not just because he's crazy (I'm not saying he's not crazy...there is definitely an element of that in there), but it's because he's- well- because he's John. And those of you that know him will know exactly what I mean! This may not be the most ideal set of photos to pay tribute to my wonderful soon to be hubby, but this is who he is!
Thank you John!

Fathers Day Antics
Sunday 4th September 2011- Fathers Day! It started off raining and windy and horrible, but the weather soon fined up and held that way for us to have a great day. After the pressie giving (of course) all 4 of us took off down to Alex for a maternity photo shoot. The kids ran amok on the beach, while John helped me out. Once that finished, it was our time! :)
We had the kites in the car, and the hill we were on was PERFECT for kite flying! We had them both out as far as they would go! We had plans of stopping along the Maroochy river on the way home, but we were sidetracked...
By pure chance, we came across the Fathers Day 'thing' happening at Cotton Tree. And by even bigger chance, we found a nice close car park- so we had no excuse but to go in! We went on the big slides, made all sorts of 'sand' art, checked out the animals and some of the displays, and listened to some great musicians. Such a great day had by all, not to mention a BIG day- the kids slept the whole way home (I have to admit I even drifted off for a bit!) :) Thanks to John and the kids for a great day- hope you had a good day too John!
My Favourite shot of the Day! Only to be followed by......................
.....this! Kaylee has to 'wipe the kiss off', Jaxon's cracking about having to kiss his dad for so long while I got the shot, and John- well, that's just him! :)

My New Lens! :)
So it was my birthday almost 3 weeks ago, and I was spoilt rotten. But it didn't stop there. My lovely family topped it off with a brand new lens that I received today- and I don't think I'll ever be able to use any of my other lenses again- I'm totally hooked! And just in time for a beautiful Maternity Shoot this weekend- hoping that the rain holds off! Thank you my wonderful Family! :)
