Close Encounters
I mentioned in one of my earlier blogs that I loved close up shots. REAL close up shots! Probably because my macro lens was the first decent lens I bought! But in our busy lives, we often miss the beautiful detail of the small things around us. Weeds, insects, even old cracking paint can hide an exquisite beauty, if only we stopped to look.

A Swell Way To Pass the Afternoon
Yesterday we went for a small walk through National Park. But we spent a lot of time just sitting at first point watching the surfers. Surfing has never interested me, but I wanted to have a go at shooting these blokes way out with my new zoom lens. But watching these guys for over an hour was amazing. They were all really good, but there were a couple that really stuck out and were gnarly. Do we still use the word gnarly? Anyway, these guys were awesome- 'dropping in', 'hanging ten' and "carvin' it up"!! ;) It's something I'm definitely going to do again (spectate that is) and maybe one day even give it a go!

Life's a Beach

Harrold the Koala welcomes visitors to the National Park. This is a memorial for Harrold, who was mauled to death by a domestic dog in the park back in 2002.
I know this bird's looking a bit odd... almost a bit evil! But I loved the water rolling in so I kept the photo anyway!

The Party

There is just one thing that we're trying to figure out. As I've gone through all the photos from today, one particular little girl keeps popping up that none of us know- including Miss K! I assumed she was one of the friends' sisters or something, but apparently not! I've got photos of her playing with the kids, winning prizes in pass the parcel, eating birthday cake, and even with a party bag at the end (I didn't name any of the bags, because I didn't know who was coming and just made up a pile)!! There was another party going on next to ours, we're not sure if she was from that party or just from a family visiting the park. Either way, where was her parent?? Lol. At least this kid has had a good day! They're starting to crash parties pretty young these days...!!
The birthday girl- being her usual daggy self!! Gotta love the outfits she chooses for herself these days...!

And a BIG thank you to Richie's Bakery for the cake!! It was a real show stopper!! http://www.richiesbakery.com.au/

"Street" Photography
Today was Under 7's soccer in Yandina. Master J was awesome of course, as per usual! But it was a really good, close game (we still won though of course!!). The biggest problem with Yandina soccer is the parking. They've got markets going on at the same time right next door to the soccer grounds! Sometimes you get to listen to a brass band or some bongos playing while the kids play, but no luck today. But the upside is the people watching...!! You get away with taking photos of strangers by calling it "street" or "candid" photography. Maybe even paparazzi!! lol. So anyway, there were definitely some interesting people in Yandina! :)
Red red RED hair, black nails, and "pink and green should never be seen" sunglasses. You go girl!
There were a few guys and gals like this getting around the Yandina township. Not sure what their thing against shoes were...
Ahhh, Mr JBV. AKA the family packhorse!! :)
So as not to be picking on just Yandina, I took a snap of this man with his ferocious canine back here in Noosa...
This poor pup! Not sure why this guy felt the need to muzzle him!! The pup wouldn't even walk when the guy put him down, he was dragged for a bit, before the guy picked up his ferocious beast and walked away!
