365+1 {Week 2}

If I can manage to get a photo up everyday after the last week I've had- I have no excuse not to get one up every day for the next 352 days! I have been flat out! But it's been nice- even though in those spare minutes I've had I have been absolutely buggered- I've made myself go out to find the photo of the day (even though that couch looked mighty fine!). Which meant that the kids and I got to spend time together- and with the heat wave we just had, it usually meant it was time spent somewhere near water!

{8} 8/1/12 "Ripple" I've always wanted to try these droplet photos- and I can't wait to experiment some more! While I did capture some 'better' photos, this one fits better into the ripple theme!

{9} 9/1/12 "Float" There was no question what we were going to photograph when I told the kids about this topic... Off to the little blow up pool out the back- filled with water bombs!

{10} 10/1/12 "10 Steps" The idea here was to take a photograph of something '10 steps away' from SOMETHING- it could be 10 steps away from your computer, from your work, your school... anything- I went with 10 steps from my backdoor. I thought it was going to be another flower photo, but how lucky was I to get this baby?! Goes to show what may be just outside your door if you took the time to look...!

{11} 11/1/12 "Light and Dark" I took this photo somewhere out the back of North Arm, not planning on actually using it for the topic- I just saw beautiful rays beaming through the clouds on a lonely tree on a hill. And it came out pretty average (for want of a better word!) so I played around with it and came up with this to fit the topic! As a commenter on my FaceBook page said "Color is a perception, which when removed, can reveal the depths of a shaded world." Not sure if it's from a prior source or not- but it fits this beautifully!

{12} 12/01/12 "Feminine" On another afternoon spent cooling off by the river, I struggled to find something feminine about my 4 year old daughter! She's such a tomboy! Until I spotted her one weakness- fingernail polish!

{13} 13/01/12 "Making Tracks" Back to the river... well it WAS 35degree+ days we were having! I went down aiming to photograph tracks in the sand- from birds, dogs humans... and got a few too. But then we found this old race car in the bottom of our bag of sandcastle building supplies. The kids made a huge built up race track, complete with a centre 'lake'!

{14} 14/01/12 "Salty" Many things crossed my mind for this topic, but when you live metres away from something this beautiful (and salty!) why wouldn't you photograph it?

Annabelle & Chloe

With Christmas so close, I've been so busy with children and family photos- after all, what better present to give to your loved ones? It's always nice when you get repeat customers, especially when they're as fun as these 2 sisters- Annabelle and Chloe. Annabelle surprised us all with some 'modelling' poses, which was soon copied by her little sister giving us all a laugh. Its shoots like these that I really enjoy!

And finally, my kids with the girls, loving each others company!

Remember, if you're stuck for Christmas ideas, gift vouchers are available- $100 for session and DVD of photos!]

Baby Boy

If you follow me on Face book (Here!) you will know that I've been so excited to finally share these photos of you of baby Lukaz- firstborn to Elly and Billy! I first met Lukaz when he was 5 days old, but it was late afternoon, and he wasn'[t really interested in being photographed. So a few weeks on, we tried again, and he was a perfect little angel for his mummy- allowing us to get some pretty great shots- including a few Christmas inspired ones! I soon found out though, that there was no such thing as a 'quick' newborn edit, and have a new found appreciation for how much time and work goes into editing newborns! But I hope that you'll agree- its well worth the effort!

Toes! Every little Spot you can see is a reflection of a perfect little toe in a crystal!

I Love the little pout here! :)

And lastly- a photo of Lukaz @ 5 days old- what a difference a couple of weeks can make!

If you've just had a baby or know of someone who has (or maybe you or someone you know is expecting- don't forget maternity shoots!) what better gift than some quality photos at very reasonable prices! $150 gets a newborn photo shoot (usually 1-2hrs, but as long as it takes to get the 'shots') and a DVD of approximately 10 edited, high-res images to use however you like, time and time again! Pictures of you...

This afternoon I started playing around with a few photos from the Noosa Show today, and came across a few of my partner with funny facial expressions. This got me thinking, and I went through the last few months of photos. In just about every album there is at least one of John looking silly- So I've thrown a couple of them together to showcase him here! My kids and I had quite a chuckle going through these- and I'm sure you will too! But there is a reason behind all these faces. John likes to call himself the 'serpent' behind Rainbow Photography. He is my biggest fan, my biggest critic, my best assistant, and my best friend. John goes the extra mile to try and help me get the shots I want- and is always pulling faces and carrying on like a monkey to get the kids interested and involved with the photos. Its not just because he's crazy (I'm not saying he's not crazy...there is definitely an element of that in there), but it's because he's- well- because he's John. And those of you that know him will know exactly what I mean!  This may not be the most ideal set of photos to pay tribute to my wonderful soon to be hubby, but this is who he is!

Thank you John!

My New Lens! :)

So it was my birthday almost 3 weeks ago, and I was spoilt rotten. But it didn't stop there. My lovely family topped it off with a brand new lens that I received today- and I don't think I'll ever be able to use any of my other lenses again- I'm totally hooked! And just in time for a beautiful Maternity Shoot this weekend- hoping that the rain holds off! Thank you my wonderful Family! :)

Spring has Sprung!

My father has been saying it for a week or so now, but I finally agree with him: Spring has Sprung! Well, almost anyway! I went outside to take photos of the kids playing with the dog, and I was sidetracked by all the busy insects and beautiful flowers. The days are starting to warm up, and we'll all be back at the beach complaining about the heat before you know it!

Classy Casey... Makes a new friend...! :)

What an afternoon we had Yesterday!! I was supposed to photograph the beautiful Casey down the park- and it rained! We managed to get a few good ones in- although we're still going to reschedule for more! and we did make a new friend... We spent the (short) afternoon being followed around by a little black mangy dog- he had no hair whatsoever on his whole backside- but he was such an awesome dog! He was dragging around a big lump of heavy rubber stuff (no idea what i was!) trying to get you to throw it. No matter where you'd throw it, he was straight after it! We through it out in the water, and it sunk for a while- but he still managed to duck dive under and push it back to shore! Until after a few times when it started to float and started floating out to the middle of the river... but he kept persevering trying to get it! We were actually a bit worried that he was going to get tired and drown because he just kept on trying! When he finally gave up, he just grabbed a huge bit of firewood from nearby (bigger than his head!) and tried to get us to throw that instead! He definitely kept us amused! As for Casey, she's got another photo shoot coming her way real soon...!

If you're interested in having some photos done- you won't believe the prices! Have a look at Rainbow Photography and become a fan to keep up to date with amazing specials!
