This Beautiful Place We Live

I was talking to a friend this morning who is living in Valparaiso, Chile for a while (one of the most beautiful, photo worthy places on the planet!!)  with her husband and young family, and she said that while they were all having a great time, she was missing our beautiful country. It got me thinking- we really do live in a beautiful place, and I'm sure many of us take it for granted! So I flicked (well clicked really) through some of my old photos, and put together a collection of some of SE Qld's beautiful places- Hope you enjoy! :)

Mooloolaba Beach

The cure for anything is salt water -- sweat, tears, or the sea.
                                                                     ~Isak Dinesen~
After our big bush walk through the Buderim Rain forest yesterday, we stopped at Mooloolaba and took the kids down to the rock pools. We really have to go again, the kids could have easily spent hours there, but it was getting late, and JBV had to work. Plus I'd love to get some macro shots of all the snails, hermit crabs, shells, coral bits and barnacle thingies! The surf was pretty good, and there were a lot of 'mature' surfers really going to town at it! It was a very overcast afternoon, so there was no one apart from the few surfers around, so it was extremely peaceful! My favourite was watching the big tankers go by, especially when looking through my big zoom! A great way to end a lovely day with my family.
Don't forget, the photos are always better on my Flickr Page!

Dusk at Noosa

I am really not a morning person! I think it's because I don't sleep well at night. Once the kids go to bed, it's finally ME time, and I sit up to all hours (usually on the computer!!). Hence I'm not a fan of early shifts- so 3 in a row has been horrible for me!! But on the upside of doing an early shift, I'm able to come home and spend some time with the kids after school. Another plus side is that I get to enjoy the beauty of Noosa at dusk.

One of the bonuses of working on Noosa River! This is the local houseboat owner enjoying a stand up paddle surf after work.

Surely doesn't get much better than this!

I stand corrected. Surely can't get much better than THIS!! Alone doesn't necessarily bean lonely. Such a beautiful spot along the Noosa river at Noosaville to sit and relax after a long day at work (especially if it's your 3rd early shift!!)  ;)

These guys made me laugh. They looked so cute and in love sitting here sharing a bottle of wine, that I just HAD to take a photograph of them! Simply adorable. Until just after I snapped this and the woman stood up yelling and stormed off while the man slinked behind. I wasn't game to take any more photos of them! But goes to show a picture CAN lie!

Noosa- Beautiful one day, perfect the next!! :)

So I whinge about earlies, but I get to enjoy the beautiful sunsets that Noosa has to offer all year round. Still doesn't make up for having to be up early though....!
