Spring has Sprung!

My father has been saying it for a week or so now, but I finally agree with him: Spring has Sprung! Well, almost anyway! I went outside to take photos of the kids playing with the dog, and I was sidetracked by all the busy insects and beautiful flowers. The days are starting to warm up, and we'll all be back at the beach complaining about the heat before you know it!

Botanical Gardens

In my last post of dew drops, I mentioned I was actually taking photographs of flowers before I got sidetracked. So I thought I would post some of them. But then I realised I only had 2 photos that I liked- but that maybe I could slip some photos in from our trip to the Cooroy Botanical Gardens back in December. I had only just got my camera, but I think there's a few alright through them! We spent hours traipsing through the park. Master J had my old point and shoot camera and was just as into it as me! Might have to plan a trip up there again soon...

Close Encounters

I mentioned in one of my earlier blogs that I loved close up shots. REAL close up shots! Probably because my macro lens was the first decent lens I bought! But in our busy lives, we often miss the beautiful detail of the small things around us. Weeds, insects, even old cracking paint can hide an exquisite beauty, if only we stopped to look.

Naturally Nambour

JBV and I had huge plans on exploring the Noosa Hinterland today, aiming for some photos up Malaney way. Our day was cut short after spotting some friends in town that we stopped and had a yarn with, followed by KFC for an early lunch/late breakfast... so Nambour is as far as we got! We weren't disappointed though! Heading up towards the Mapelton Range, we spotted loads of what looked like yellow bushes mixed in with the normal greenery on the hillsides. It wasn't until we started up the range that we realised that it was actually masses of yellow flowers! The photos really don't do it justice. And the smell!! Pew! The bees were having the time of their lives though!

Not a great photo (it was taken from a moving car!) but you can kind of see the yellowish mixed in with the greenery. Like I said, does NOT do it justice!!

And there was of course lots of other things to photograph as well!!

Some Old Macros

A lot of odd shifts in a row at the moment, so if I'm not sleeping I'm working. In fact, I haven't seen Master J since Tuesday!! I asked for him to wake me up this morning before he left, but he didn't want to wake me! I'm on a late/early now, so I will see him Saturday afternoon...!! :(
So with no time for new photographs, I thought I'd post some of my older ones -and my favourite style- macro's. My first ever post was the macro of the fly!! There was a while where nearly everything I took was with my macro lens, but I haven't done much in a while. I think its time to start again!! :)
